I really like the following Thomas’ statement about our Doge10:

After making videos for many years, my goal was always to find that gem”

And if you watch again the full 20mn video “Doge 10 is an Unicorn” video below on that page, you will see he says EXACTLY the same as what he says about his Galion TS120.

SADLY, my management has decided to refocus on OEM against Doge own brand.

My boss Mr. Liu is 70 and obviously direct sales weren’t in his DNA and he loves OEM.

I forgive him for this, even though I feel sad for our customers

to have to pay for our products at higher prices with third-party brands.

you can easily understand that under the pressure of Mr. Thomas Tan to avoid Doge10 to compete with his Galion TS120, which is 95% based on Doge10, Doge management has sadly decided to put on standby Doge 10 production for at least all of the year 2023 to avoid the Doge10 with its lower price to compete with Thomas’ Galion. Politics always…  Though even recently, Thomas told me he didn’t like politics…

This said I DO RECOMMEND buying the Galion TS120 (standard) instead of the DOGE 10 MK3 and the price is pretty fair knowing it includes import duties (25% in the US) and shipping to your front door.

This is absolutely sincere and not any sarcastic statement. Galion TS120 is based on Doge10 and has a few improvements included in the price, how could it be a bad deal? The GALION TS120 Standard IS A GOOD DEAL at A GOOD PRICE. Furthermore, Doge10 MK4 is on backorder until 2024. It is not worth waiting.

I just recommend you to check carefully if Thomas sells his amp as a private individual or as a corporation since it is the only website worldwide that has no “about” section to describe his company, capital, date of incorporation, company ID, address…

And as we can’t do comments on Doge 10 MK4 that won’t be there before a year at the very least, we can just make comments about his interestingly cloned+improved Doge 10 version called Galion TS120, and it does perform well, slightly above Doge 10 and again fairly priced.

Regarding reliability, it will be the same as Doge 10 as it uses the same PCB, the same components, and is assembled by the same workers. However, as sometimes the autobias need a few tips, you will have the opportunity to have to deal with a native English speaker, either in English, French, or Chinese, as Thomas speaks all these languages.

Why we can only recommend the GALION TS120 standard at $3495 ?

First as said above if you includes additional components, shipping and import duty (if it really does include import duties as Thomas says as some areas are delivered directly from our factory)

Secondly, it is an extremely well-performing amplifier as fully designed by Doge Electronics Ltd and mainly based on Doge10. So it has all the quality of Doge 10 and a few extras. We added a separate transformer for input tubes exactly as we did for the LUA Sinfonia in 2008. Please do not believe it is any Thomas idea. We are the designer. Thomas just took fun tweaking coupling caps. Doing so, he even asked Jupiter for special caps, not released yet, for capacitors that are purposed to BLOCK the audio signal. Believe it or not, he put $60 for special caps to block the audio signal. OMG.

Here are the two capacitors said “build for me” by Jupiter they had not even brought to market

The good way for the signal is the red stroke. The alternative way that the signal could take is the pink color way and then go to the grid and disturb the normal way of the signal and create distortion by reinjecting the signal to the grid.

The C2 cap, “specially designed for him” let the DC current pass to the grid but blocks the audio signal creating a bypass to the ground. Only audio signal who is AC signal goes to the ground (so disappears) and the DC is blocked so doesn’t go to the ground (the purpose of a cap is to block DC and let AC pass through). This is a 100% evidence that Thomas put an expensive cap whose purpose is to block the audio signal and absolutely not in the pass of the audio signal so can’t have any influence on the sound. 100% scientific. 100% terrific.

His (his/our) amp is good, but Thomas is so ignorant about electronics. After reading this, he will question Mr. Liu and you will see in the next production in September he will move back to $1 caps which are absolutely enough. For those having ordered already don’t worry. It won’t disturb anything. You have just paid for something useless, nothing more serious than that.

Of course, the text on his website will disappear soon so I put a screenshot of March 12th as evidence of his poor knowledge and secondary evidence that he didn’t design anything in it and even his caps choice are random.

Let’s go back to the Galion TS120 performances.

Galion TS120 goes slightly above the Doge 10 MK3, I don’t deny it, as of course, it has one additional transformer, but if my management didn’t block me, under Thomas’ pressure, for the MK4 version release, of course, the Doge 10 MK4 would have overtaken the TS120. But I have no date to give you, and frankly, I am not even sure it will be produced again. If Thomas’ sales are robust, as our manufacturing capabilities are modest, there is a big chance that Doge 10 will be discontinued.

Thomas did a great job pushing Mr Liu to find slight improvements on Doge 10. As Chinese blood and Chinese speaking, contrary to me, he succeeded to put pressure and pressure on Mr Liu to “how can you improve the Doge10”. Finally, Mr. Liu found a place to add between many wires the same kind of extra transformer he added on the Lua Sinfonia in 2008 when Mr. Lua asked the same question. Mr. Liu is also against tone controls. He never designed any tone control for Lua or Jolida, so Thomas was successful to have put pressure on him to design this tone control. Regarding the other settings, he just used what I taught him during we were friends as I taught Thomas a lot about caps. He even shows some of my drawings in his videos.

    Just look below.

This is me who taught this to Thomas through this drawing after a phone in which I realized he was confused about that topic. He didn’t even say “thanks to Marc for the drawing”, but instead “a buddy sent me this drawing”. Surely this video will shunt down soon to erase this. Surely this video will shunt down soon to erase this.

Let’s come back about TS120 purchase.

OK, I guess what you will say: “the standard edition is fairly priced but I wish the SE Edition!!

Come on, don’t believe in marketing! Indeed, I remind you that the SE version is nothing else than a standard version with tweaked coupling caps like on the picture below. Absolutely not any other mods like the electronic diagram, PCB or any other upgrade of components. Just an upgrade of four coupling caps for $1000. Period. As evidence, you won’t find any technical explanation on the website about the differences between the two versions. Having internal pictures of TS120, I am not even 99% sure of what I say, but 110% sure. He makes it as a secret only because the capacitors’ price increase is very far from the $1000 difference between the two versions.

OMG, I was going to be so unfair with Thomas. I forgot to mention the SE has an extremely important additional tweak. Two piano-painted wood plates on the sides. Sorry for that forgetting 🙂 it is so important for sound performance 🙂

In conclusion, just buy the standard edition which is fairly priced (did I say the SE isn’t fairly priced? I don’t think I said this :-)) and give it an even better sound than the SE edition tweaking it yourself in a better way than Thomas did with the SE. I can bet the tweak I recommend will be a standard in the near future after he will have ended his SE first-generation inventory, or will become a VSE (very special edition) version 🙂

So below this are what you pay $1000 in SE, the four Clarity red caps at around and the two Jupiter Alu bypass caps in comparison to the Clarity ESA (on the second picture) that we love and that Sonus Farber speaker factory uses on his $20,000 speakers’ crossovers. Bypassing the Clarity ESA with Jupiter silver PIO gives better results than bypassing the Clarity CMR with the Jupiter alu PIO of the SE.

On the picture, one question raised my attention for weeks. Thomas bypassed for four Clarity CMR by only two Jupiter Vitamin ALU PIO 10nF, so two caps over four caps. Why only two caps are bypassed instead of the four? total mystery. On merely a technical approach it would be a scientific nonsense, like if you put two different brands of KT88 on the same channel. But everybody wants matched tubes matched. But coupling caps on SE version are unmatched. Genius tip or mistake, impossible to know. Sometimes listening reserves surprises. If genius tip, greetings to Thomas, if not you we discover immediately by small listening fatigue over two hours.

Thomas spent a lot of time on it but has no technical knowledge. And ears don’t replace technique. A better tweaking than the one done in the SE version is possible. It will cost you $319 in parts and around $100 in labor (the Jupiter Vitamin ALU is $21 whereas the Jupiter vitamin is $79, BUT so much better. Just buy 4 Jupiter Vitamin 10nF Silver PIO, instead of paying the $1000 extra SE with Jupiter Vitamin Alu PIO which are really a small part of the extra $1000 expense of SE Edition, then bring the standard TS120 to any repair shop that will take 20mn to solder them) and you will definitely love it!!

And don’t mislead my words. I am not talking of making you save money doing DIY versus the finished SE version. I tell you about improving significantly the TS120 SE edition for $400 over the standard edition price like in the picture below.

Our German Beta tester Jürgen has tried the tweak I recommend you on the Galion TS120. He did this tweak on this Doge 10. He said it was incredible (read his feedback below). You will save $600 compared to the SE edition and get better sound. Just read Jurgen’s email sent just after his first listenings without break-in the caps:

    “Hi Marc,

I’ve got the capacitors today and installed them already. After one-hour listening session I can only say: Absolutely great!!! Haven’t ever heard anything better! THIS IS IT!!! I am absolutely amazed. Great work. Thank you so much for sharing with me and giving me the chance to change. I will leave a feedback related the Doge 10 MKIII.
Please continue your great work! Regards to your team as well.
    Best regards Jürgen”
FOR DOGE 10 OWNERS of all versions, YOU CAN DO THE SAME.

When Doge 10 was released we got a great review from Thomas at that time only reviewer and not Galion’s brand owner, a kind of video called “rave review”, but willing to promote its Galion TS120 which is 95% a clone of Doge 10 even slightly improved, but still a clone, he has shunted it down.

Thomas was naive enough not to think we made a backup. Even though it is heavier to host it directly from our server, we really wish to recall you how heavily Thomas insisted on Doge10 basses and an incredible sound stage.

When you listen to Thomas to speak about the 3D holographic sound stage about Galion, he just repeats 100% identically what he said on Doge10. So funny how he “marteking-ly” talks about “his” Galion as if TS120 features were unique and were created by him whereas what he says is exactly the same about Doge10.

We put a few shortcut sentences below. The funniest was that Thomas insisted a lot about the crazy basses never seen before on a tube amp. And for the TS120 the basses seem like coming from nowhere.

On Messenger chat application, (I still have it), Thomas told me he considered the standard Edition as 5% better than Doge 10 and the SE Edition has 10% better than Doge 10. The similar mod we did on TS120 as we did in LUA Sinfonia in 2008, adding a separate transformer for the input tubes, might have indeed slightly improved the basses. But these great basses are a KEY FEATURE of Doge 10. So expect significantly greater basses, but nothing revolutionary on the TS120 about basses compared to Doge10 basses. As Thomas wrote to me, expect 5% better basses. Just watch again the video and he says the Doge 10 slap his Accuphase at $12,000.

I challenge Thomas to make a blind test with many people in Montreal between TS120 and MK4 sample.

DOGE 10 is an awesome KT88 push-pull delivering 60W RMS in class AB and 40W in class A.

The reviewers have loved it, here a selection of the key sentences they say about Doge 10:

After making videos for many years, my goal was always to find that gem” (Thomas’ sentence at 23’05” from Thomas & Stereo Youtube channel). You can watch the review below.

“It is unique as although 100% tube amp, it has the advantages of the solid-state amps + the benefits of the tube world.” (Quote of Mark Scott in Thomas & Stereo third video with Mark S. as guest testing MK2 version)

Our customers who already own this amplifier gave us so much positive feedbacks and comparisons with other brands they previously owned, that we consider it regarding customer’s reviews, as one of the best-integrated tube amplifiers on the market for its price not to say THE BEST.

You might find some KT88 amps from China at $1099, sometimes even $899 without remote, sometimes with a pretty good appearance,… but none will offer such sound performance, so many features, and last but not least, such reliability as Doge 10. Our Doge 10 compares favorably with amps in the range of $4000 to $8000.

We are so so happy with this MK3 version that we have discontinued the Doge 9 monoblocks as we thought they didn’t over-perform Doge 10 anymore and we wanted our flagship to go one step further. So we sincerely think it is the best amp designed by our company, including the German LUA models sold under OEM cooperation at prices up to $6,000 (retail, in brick-and-mortar German shops).

The main differences between Doge 10 MK3 and previous versions:

After the first review of Thomas & Stereo who was highly impressed by Doge 10 3D sound stage, but found Doge 10 warmth in between tubes and solid-states, we have totally revisited the negative feedback of Doge 10 to keep the same 3D stage but have further warmth and silkiness. The sound improvement is really significant and DOGE 10 MK3 will really make you cry of emotion on your favorite tracks which was the only thing Thomas regretted on MK1 version.

    1) Improved sound performance, more warmth more emotion, some micro-details you will realize you have never heard before, AND a still incredibly huge 3D sound stage.

    2) an LFE Subwoofer output mono & stereo, which requires an isolation system to avoid rejection of signal into the tubes. Whereas it is something very simple and current in the solid-state world. Most tube amplifiers on the market having subwoofer outputs are priced at least $3,599.

    3) Doge 10 MK3 has a “pre-in” input, in case for example you want to drive Doge 10 by the pre-out of your HT amplifier. Please don’t mistake HT bypass which is a feature only in the preamp and not on integrated. HT bypass doesn’t exist on integrated amps.

    4) Compared to the MK1 version, the MK3 is more musical, less solid-state colored (which was a bit too Chinese taste), warmer but without being caricatural tubish. The basses go even further.

    5) Compared to the MK1 version, the MK3 is more musical, less solid-state colored (which was a bit too Chinese taste), warmer but without being caricatural tubish. The basses go even further.

    6) Doge 10 MK3 is offered in full black color OR in silver.

    7) Note: Why do we have many new features like PRE-IN or SUB-OUT and not XLR inputs???  Simple: 99% of the input stages of the tubes amplifier works in class A single-ended. So if we add an XLR input, that would mean we would have to unbalanced immediately it before we send it to the potentiometer. Be careful of all devices that have XLR.

XLR input or output doesn’t mean neither “balanced unit” nor “fully balanced” unit. XLR is just a format of jack connector. XLR connections have interest only with fully balanced devices and 80% that you believe fully balanced are not.

We had a nice video about Doge 10 from Thomas & Stereo, a kind of video called “rave review”, but willing to promote its Galion TS120 which is 95% a clone of Doge 10, he removed it.

Doge 10 come with awesome comprehensive features

    • Doge PAB (Precision Auto-Bias) a computer-manager autobias
    • Doge DUAL CLASS mode, a computer-managed feature to switch from class AB to true Class A
    • Doge FLS (Feedback Loop Selector) for better speaker matching and tone control
    • Doge APM (Auto Protection Mode) to shutdown automatically the amp and protect your speakers if something wrong happens inside the amp.
    • A sophisticated Soft-Start
    • A Ground Noise Reduction switch
    • A comprehensive remote controller made in a single piece of 18mm aluminum
    • Turn-on/turn-off function from the remote controller. Very convenient

Doge 10 is a KT88 push-pull integrated amplifier. it can be used with 6550 as well. However, it can’t use the KT150, and KT170 tubes. It can use the KT120 from Shuguang or Psvane but the Russian KT120s from Tungsol have an extremely high rate of unstable grid voltage with unstable impedance and many of Tungsol KT120 could be recognized as defective by our DTI, so our processor will block them to preserve the safety of Doge 10. If you use KT120, please source them from Tube Amp Doctor or Upscale Audio only.

It can deliver 60 Watts RMS per channel in class AB and it goes to 30W in class A. Most of you probably know that true class A has less efficiency in counterpart it improves the sound performance.

To sum up, the Doge 10 design concept, is we wanted to put the best of our technology and put in the best components, most of them imported. First of all, the key component is a pair of very high standard output transformers with high range Z10 core steel. Definitely, you can’t have a high-end amp without premium-grade output transformers. For other components we use Nippon Chemicon electrolytic capacitors, Japanese potentiometer ALPS “blue velvet” matched at 1% precision, German OMRON gold plated relays,…  And last but not least, you would be surprised if you were comparing the signal cable we use and those of well-known brands. Our signal cable is a very expensive silver-PTFE with shielding. We put attention to any single detail, like shielding even the inputs board with the relays.

    To be completed.

If you want to take a break before going further into technical explanations, you can watch Doge 10 in one of our customer’s systems. We think it interesting to show you this video as at least 5 customers reported to us an awesome match between Doge 10 and the Tekton speakers we have no idea technically why, but in case you need to buy new speakers as well, you can’t be wrong with matching Doge 10 with Tekton’s (and we have no commission on Tekton sales 🙂 )

Any designer would have stopped here, but we still wanted more! So we created the FLS (Feedback Loop selector) function. Although you find now this feature and a few other brands (really just a few), we were among the firsts to do it if not the first. Almost all amplifiers have a negative feedback loop, which in two words means the amplifier re-inject a little part of the output signal into the input stage to make it more stable. In the 60’s this was considered as an improvement. But after some years have passed, many audiophiles consider the “zero feedback” as “the nirvana”, but this kind of electronic diagram requires ultra-stable speakers as it lowers the damping factor. Our point of view is we don’t know which speakers will be used with our Doge 10, so we preferred to do a design it with a feedback loop, but to let the user the choice of the strength of this feedback loop.

We offer three choices, normal, medium, and low. Normal is what you find in most amplifiers on the market, whereas “low mode” is close to the zero feedback loop’s amps. This choice is to make upon your taste after listening, and “low” mode still keeps a little feedback to keep the amplifier stable and a good damping factor.

A good amplifier starts with a good power section.

To supply the correct amount of power in particular in class A, we use a huge power transformer and a “Pi filtering” with a huge choke of 1H/1A.

A “Pi” filtering (CLC) is an association of an electrolytic capacitor, followed by a choke for filtering and a second electrolytic capacitor. On Doge 10 we have 235µF before and 500µF after the choke, so a total of 735µF !! It is an incredible source of energy. You will have at the same time a super silent power and firm and incredible basses even at Pmax. As far as we know it is highest value for KT88 push-pull in integrated below $10K.

A big choke has a cost similar to a transformer, in particular, if like us, you use premium Z10 core steel. That’s the reason many manufacturers in the low or medium range, don’t use choke or make it very small. To make an explanation by image, we have chosen the internal picture from the integrated amp of a brand worldwide famous at $3,590. You can see the difference in size and construction quality of their choke, no need to add other explanations. To avoid any scale trick we have circled the ALPS potentiometer as we share this same component to show we use the same scale on both photos.

Making this explanation we don’t intend do mean that amps without choke have bad sound (we don’t make secret we don’t use on our Doge 5 at $1K, for example, to make it more affordable), and that doesn’t mean either that amps with smaller choke have necessarily bad sound, but, we wanted to point out we really put very high quality and expensive components inside Doge 10 and its smart design combined with high range components both together make an incredible sound! it is also visible on the scale with 29Kg unpacked.

Compared to our first generation of PAB Autobias from 2011, we have put all the tubes LEDs on the front panel in order to make that the tube sockets area doesn’t look like a “Christmas tree”, and instead, we put a nice anodized aluminum plate. So everything can be controlled from the front panel.

We supply a sophisticated protection cage that holds with strong magnets (enough strength for kids’ hands) so the appearance is elegant no visible holes on the chassis and no screws on the grid.

It has a very holographic sound stage, we could say a 3D sound stage. It’s ultra-low distortion rate makes that you can listen for hours without feeling tired. The basses are particularly firm and dynamic.

We want to let you know that the Doge 10 has been tested in the German STEREO magazine under model name LUA Sinfonia at $6500. It got the mark of 92% and 4 stars for the price value. You might think, and that would make sense, that probably this model shares the same schematics with the Doge 10 but certainly, the German partner put higher range components in it?

    WRONG !

The LUA Sinfonia uses very reliable (and sonically decent), but industrial, Wima coupling capacitors whereas our audiophiles grade UK Claritycaps are 10 times the price of the Wimas. You can also note the number of connectors required by Mr. Lua whereas our Doge 10 use soldering only for perfect conduction and avoid any loose contact. We want clearly claim our own brand DOGE products are higher standards than our OEM German products. And you can understand why Doge 10 is a true bargain compared to the 5900€ of the Sinfonia!

With NOS tubes worth $2500 that you can buy by yourself for cheaper it was ranked 95%

We are fully aware that considering the German price, we could have priced Doge 10 at higher levels. Our first goal was we really wanted you to be able to enjoy it even for audiophiles with moderate income.

Doge 10 is supplied with the following tubes:

KT88: Psvane KT88-C. It is an incredible tube, one of the best on the market not to say the best. It has exactly the same internal architecture and components as KT88-TII except the gray coating on the glass which in our opinion is more marketing than scientific 🙂

We are pleased to announce that Doge 10 is now supplied automatically with upgraded tubes. Our historical partner Shuguang Tube factory is closed until spring 2022 so we inquired about new supplies and we made a partnership with the german brand TAD (Tube Amp Doctor) which is the biggest tube dealer worldwide and make his own brand of tubes which are in fact tubes manufactured by the main tube companies, but with very severe sorting done in TAD german Labs. Only the best 20% tubes are selected to become a “TAD Premium Selected” tubes.

What makes a preamp tube become a TAD PREMIUM SELECTED?

All preamp tubes labeled Premium Selected have passed the following tests:
    –      Low Noise Test
    –      Microphonic Test
    –      Gain Test
    –      Sonic Tests
    –      Shock Tests
    –      Listening Tests
    –      Balanced Output Test

If you have already your own tubes or you want to choose other models you can order without tubes.

We provide the warranty service in your country as it is easy to find some repair shops. However, we provide a tube warranty in China, which means you need to send back any potential defective tube during warranty time and pay the shipping cost for return. We don’t make a secret that in practical, except for those crazy of packing, it means almost no warranty.

To avoid any frustration about potential failure, which is rare but can occur even a few days after the delivery, we offer a “safety pack option” that includes one spare part of each of the tubes. So if you chose this recommended option, as it can serve even outside the warranty period, you will get one extra KT88-C, one extra TAD Premium ECC81 & extra TAD Premium ECC83.

It’s really up to you if you are lucky or unlucky (Remind Lucky Strike ad!).

    > Factory-direct price: once you will have checked out (without the need to register) you will fill your country and see our total price with includes delivery to your front door, Paypal or CC fees, and one year warranty served in your country. If you pay by bank transfer you will get 5% discount as our bank doesn’t charge us any fees (use coupon code “bank”). Possible taxes in your country are at your charge.

Please note that for safety reasons according to international air freight regulations, remote controllers are not supplied with batteries. We use AA type batteries. Please plan to purchase some prior to the delivery.

DOGE 10 deserves the best speakers…

With respect to our competitors, we don’t quote the name of the amps below as it exceeds their performance.

Because our price is not only because we price more fairly than our competitors, it is also because of our system of direct distribution to you. Our competitors have to give profit margin to their distributors who promote them in exhibitions and visit regularly the retailers and of course to retailers who need profit margin to buy demo units.
